General Practitioner – Locum Opportunity | Waiheke Island, New Zealand

Escape to beautiful Waiheke Island and experience a truly unique working holiday. A well-established medical centre is seeking a General Practitioner to provide locum cover during the following periods:

01 June 2026 – 12 July 2026

27 July 2026 – 04 October 2026

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, community-focused practice while enjoying one of New Zealand’s most sought-after island destinations.

About the Practice

You’ll be joining a friendly and collaborative team that includes:

• 8 General Practitioners
• 1 Nurse Practitioner
• 6 Nurses
• A Health Coach
• A Primary Health Care Assistant
• 5 Administration staff

The practice supports an enrolled population of 5,500 patients and uses the Indici Practice Management System.

The locum role offers:

• Four days per week across two clinic sites
• A mix of booked and acute appointments
• 20-minute appointment slots
• Accommodation and a car provided for the duration of your assignment
• Optional after-hours shifts available at higher rates

Remuneration:

Sessional rate: $650
